Adopting from PSR
Sadly, most of the parrots that come to rescues have suffered some neglect or abuse at the hands of humans. Because of this, they require and deserve, "special" homes. PSR is NOT - a pet shop, we take the job of finding those "special" homes very seriously. We want the birds that leave us to be in the best and LAST home they will live in. If you think that you could be a "forever" home for one of the parrots listed on this page? Please - EMAIL us for an application. When we recieve your application, we will contact you with questions and requirements.
Understand that adopting a "rescued" bird is not like adopting a hand fed baby bird. Not only have these birds been through negative situations, but they are happy here! There will almost surely, be a transitional period where the bird will have to adjust to it's new situation and people.

Woody |
 Woody is a 7ish yr old blue and gold macaw. Due to severe neglect, he has developed a serious plucking issue. He is currently under veterinary care for that and we are seeing positive results! Baby feathers are growing! This may or may not be an ongoing issue with him. Once he gets to know you, he is the sweetest bird! Very happy to sit with you on your chest or shoulder, more like a cat then a bird. He does say a few words and is paying attention to the other birds who are very vocal. He's an awesome bird for us and with love and time, he could be for a new family too. He is available to homes with large bird experience only. |

Gracie
She is incredibly sweet! Says many words including, "Crackers, gimme crackers, woops, and go work". She is very petite and without question the sweetest CAG I've ever met! |
Gracie is an 18 yr old Congo African Grey. She is very plucked due to lack of hygiene, good diet and entertainment. There are many baby feathers so we are hopeful that Grace may get feathers back. "MIMI'
Mimi is a 15yr old Moluccan Cockatoo female. She is a very sweet bird, can be shy at times but a nice snuggler when she trusts you. Mimi just doesn't like the rescue lifestyle at all. The hustle bustle and all the males here have upset her and during breedig season she started plucking, and bit her brother right thru his beak.
Mimi would be a great bird for someone who plans on having no other birds. She is very smart, says many words and is seldom loud.

Rex is a STUNNING Blue Front Amazon. His age is unknown but we are guessing he's older He is a shy and somewhat anxious guy, who was tame at one time but needs help getting back to being comfortable with people.. He will step up on a perch stick and occasionally step up on your hand, but he is happiest on top of his playgym just observing.

Stefan is an adult Yellow Nape Amazon. He also enjoyed the company of humans at one time and is struggling to remember the rules. He LOVES - to talk to people, he may be bi lingual. He likes his head scritched thru the bars of the cage but not so much when he's out of the cage. It's a trust thing that I'm sure will be worked out in time.
